Tommy Papatango is a French skydiver based in Oakland, California (San Fransicso Bay Area) with a production office at Skydive City in Zephyrhills, Florida. He specializes in creating skydive boogie adventures around the world since 2018. After exploring many disciplines of sport skydiving, his current favorites are training dynamic freefly at FlyStation St-Petersburg and flying his wingsuit over Namibia.

Taking a leave of absence from the California tech bubble, he created the digital brand #innhopp for the legacy "Innhopp Project" (2018 - 2020) before switching to #icehopp "Icehopp" as a Founder (2020 - 2022). He has also worked for other groups such as Toratora. In 2023, Buddha Boogie Everest One, invited a small team of highly qualified skydivers to combine trekking, H.A.L.O. jumping and mindfulness in the Everest Region of Nepal. Since 2024 Skydive Starhopp offers extraordinary skydiving adventures around the world.

He is a USPA AFF Instructor and holds 2 French national record (98, 104, biggest formation 2014) and 4 FAI World Records (Total Break Sequential 151 way FS 2pts 2024) (Total Break Sequential FS 3pts 2019, FS 217 and FS 219 way ca. 2017.  After a 10 year tenure as a software engineer in the Silicon Valley (Stanford, Apple Inc., Fitbit Inc) he is a full time skydiver since 2017 and continues to travel the world looking for places to create extraordinary experiences through his adventure travel company Skydive Starhopp. On Leap day 2024 he accepted a position of "Director of Magic" at Skydive City 2.0, Zephyrhills creating the Dropzone Fun Jumper Cahos Management platform skydive.city.

Skydive Starhopp invites experienced skydivers to embark on extraordinary skydiving adventures around the world. In 2024, we celebrated the 80th anniversary of the D-day landings in Normandy and jumped the 1000 year old UNESCO monastery island of Mount Saint Michel.

FAI WORLD RECORDS

World Records involve hundreds of skydivers exiting a dozen aircrafts at the same time to draw flowers in the sky, as we hold on to eachother. I am immensely grateful to have taken part in such a transcending human experience in 2017, 2019 and 2024, probably one of Nature's most bizarre phenomenon.

SKYDIVE ICEHOPP (2020-22)

What started as a pandemic project in a more travel friendly innhopp territory than Africa or Europe at the time, Icehopp turned into an "african innhopp skyfari"-style experience moving 4 plane loads of skydivers (Twin Otter) and about 100 participants across Iceland, two years in a row, opening many new dropzones never jumped before. Skydive Chicago's SDC Core headlined the final year.

THE INNHOPP PROJECT (2018-20)

Under the premise of enjoying UNESCO sites "from above" and the fearless leadership of Retired Captain Even Rokne, we were the first to brand ourselves as an "african skyfari" and take the concept of swooping big game in Namibia (Etosha Huey S.F., Fish River Canyon S.F.) to create events in Eastern Europe (Slovenia Innhopp One 2019, Slovenia Space Chalet 2020), the Seychelles islands, and demo jumps in France, Norway and Iceland. 

AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 SKYDIVES

Extraordinary exotic skydiving events around the world make even the most pragmatic sport jumpers believe that they have found an alternate universe inspired by Jules Verne's "Around the world in 80 days". From Namibia to Iceland via Nepal, we are always racing against the clock and problem solving.

FILMMAKING

There is so much storytelling during a skydiving trip "boogie" in a foreign country. We are constantly moving and rarely repeating jumps. Over the week, we cover thousands of kilometers and fly all over a country's bucket list. The beauty of the nature we see and the locals we meet goes beyond what happens during freefall in the sky. Over the years I have come to realize that the best skydiving videos showcase everything that happens before we board on the aircrafts and the emotions after we land.
